ORDER, PAYMENT, DELIVERY

How can I make a purchase?

Select the product, add it to your cart, then enter your billing details at checkout and choose a payment method (online card payment or bank transfer). You can also place an order as a guest — creating an account is not mandatory, but recommended for easier access to your order details and downloads later. After successful payment, we send the licence key and the activation guide by email. Detailed process: How to buy. Please also review our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

The items disappeared from my cart. What should I do?

This is usually caused by a session timeout, disabled cookies, private browsing, or switching devices. Refresh the page, enable cookies, and try adding the items to the cart again. If you have an account, sign in to keep your cart across devices: Sign in / Register. If the issue persists, please email us a short description and, if possible, a screenshot: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Is cash payment or in-person pickup available?

Our products are delivered digitally, therefore cash payment and in-person pickup are not available. With online card payment, you can complete the purchase instantly; for bank transfers, we fulfil the order after the payment is received. The licence key and activation guide are delivered by email. Payment information: Payment methods. If you have questions: Contact.

What do I receive after paying for my order?

Shortly after payment, you will receive the licence key, the activation guide, and the VAT invoice by email. Installers for Microsoft products are available on our Download links page; for antivirus software and other programs, the official download is included in the guide we send you.

Do I have to create an account to purchase?

No — you can complete your order as a guest. However, having an account is more convenient: you can view previous orders, purchase faster, and access invoices more easily. Registration and sign-in: VRSoft account. Privacy details: Privacy Policy. If you get stuck, email us — we will help you sign in and track your order.

How long does it take to receive the product?

With online card payment (if in stock), the licence key and guide typically arrive within minutes. With bank transfer, we fulfil the order after the payment is received and posted (usually within 1 business day). In rare cases, verification or provider delays may extend processing time. If you do not receive an email within 30 minutes after a card payment, check your Spam/Promotions folder and contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

I can’t find the product key in my emails. Where should I look?

First, check your Spam and Promotions folders and search for “VRSoft”, “licence”, or your order ID. Make sure you are checking the email address used during checkout and that your mailbox is not full. If you have an account, you can also find the order under “My account / My orders”. If you still can’t find it, email us and we will resend it: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

MICROSOFT PRODUCTS

How can I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Check your device compatibility (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, supported processor). If it meets the requirements, you can upgrade via Windows Update or perform a clean installation using the official installer. Installer files are available on the Download links page (Microsoft products only). For other software, the required download link is included in the email guide. Questions: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Related category: Windows 11.

I’m getting an “invalid/in use key” error message. What should I do?

Please verify that you installed the correct product variant (edition, build, region/language) and entered the key exactly as provided. Restart the application or your PC and try again. If the error persists, take a screenshot of the full error message and send it to info@vrsoft.co.uk. Microsoft installers are available on the Download links page. Related categories: Windows 11 • Microsoft Office software.

Where can I check the status after activating Windows or Office?

For Windows, you can see the status under Settings → System → Activation (e.g. “Windows is activated”). For Office, open an Office application and check the licence information under Account. If the status does not update after activation, restart the application or your PC and check again. For further assistance, contact customer support. Related categories: Windows 11 • Microsoft Office software.

What should I do if the installer or activation shows an error?

Check your internet connection, date and time settings, and whether a firewall or VPN is blocking activation. Run the installer or application with administrator privileges and try again. If the error continues, take a screenshot and send it to info@vrsoft.co.uk. The Download links page contains official Microsoft installers only.

What should I do if activation failed?

Verify the product edition (e.g. a Pro key requires the Pro edition), the key entry (no extra spaces; do not mix up O–0 and I–1), your internet connection, and that you have not exceeded the allowed number of devices. If the issue persists, send a screenshot together with your order number to info@vrsoft.co.uk. Common solutions include reinstalling the correct edition or using phone activation.

Can I transfer the licence to another device or use it after reinstalling?

This depends on the licence type. An OEM licence is typically tied to a specific device, while a Retail licence can often be transferred to a new computer under the applicable terms. After reinstalling, it is usually sufficient to install the same edition and use the same licence key or sign-in method. If you are unsure, contact us at info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Do I receive a separate activation guide and setup support?

Yes. Every order includes a product-specific activation guide together with the licence key. Installers are also available via the Download links page (Microsoft products only). If you need personal assistance, please send your order ID and a short description of the issue to info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Can I upgrade Office 2019 to Office 2021?

Office 2019 and Office 2021 are separate perpetual (one-time purchase) versions. To move to Office 2021, you need a new Office 2021 licence — Office 2019 does not automatically upgrade. Installation and activation follow the guide for the purchased edition, and official installers are available on the Download links page.

How does Microsoft Server licensing and activation work?

Microsoft Server licensing depends on the specific edition. Standard editions are typically core-based and require CAL (Client Access Licence) rights for users or devices, while Datacenter editions allow an unlimited number of virtual machines on the same physical host. Activation is completed using a licence key, either online or by phone. Official Microsoft installers are available via our Download links page.

Why does Windows or Office ask me to sign in to my Microsoft account if the product is already activated?

This is not part of the activation process. Signing in is related to Microsoft services and synchronisation (such as OneDrive, Microsoft Store, and settings). Activation validates the licence itself, while a Microsoft account is used for online services and device registration. It can also make reactivation and restoring settings easier after reinstalling. If you prefer not to use synchronisation, you can continue with a local account.

ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE

Why do I need antivirus and internet security?

Security suites protect you from malware, ransomware, phishing attacks, and other online threats. Up-to-date protection is especially important when browsing, using email, and making online payments. You can find our selected solutions here: Antivirus. If you have questions, email us at info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How do I receive the installer and the activation code?

After your payment is completed, we email you the licence code and a setup/activation guide that includes the official manufacturer download link. Important: the VRSoft Download links page is for Microsoft products only — antivirus download links are always provided by email. If you have not received it, please let us know: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Does antivirus software work on Windows 10/11 systems? Are there any special requirements?

Yes, most products support Windows 10/11. In some cases, only a 64-bit version is available, and an internet connection is required for updates. We list the exact requirements on each product page. Not sure? Send us your device details: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How does activation work and how long is the licence valid?

Activation usually happens within the software by entering a licence code, or by assigning the licence to a manufacturer account. Most antivirus products are time-based (e.g. 1 year), providing protection and updates until the end of the subscription period. It can typically be renewed before expiry. If activation shows an error, take a screenshot and contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How many devices can I install the purchased antivirus on?

This depends on the selected licence plan (e.g. 1/3/5 devices). The number of devices is shown on the product page. If you replace a device, most vendors allow you to transfer the licence after deactivating it on the previous device. For larger fleets, request a quote from us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Can it slow down my system? How can I add an exclusion if it conflicts with something?

Modern security suites are designed to minimise performance impact, but certain tasks (large file transfers, developer tools) may cause temporary slowdowns. In such cases, add the relevant folder or file to the exclusions list and make sure you are not running multiple real-time protections in parallel. For guidance or specific settings, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How can I renew my subscription or switch to another product?

As the expiry date approaches, you will typically receive a notification. You can choose to renew the same product or switch to another vendor’s solution (using an imported licence or a new installation). Tell us your requirements (number of devices, features), and we will help you choose the best option: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Product range: Antivirus.

There is an installation or activation error — what should I do?

Check your internet connection, run the installer as administrator, and temporarily disable any other security solution. If you receive an error message, take a screenshot and send it to us with your order ID: info@vrsoft.co.uk. We always provide the official antivirus download link by email together with the guide.

UTILITIES

What utilities do you offer and what are they for?

Our range includes system maintenance tools, PDF software, data recovery, password managers, partition managers, and other practical utilities. These products are designed to speed up everyday tasks and make troubleshooting easier. Browse the category page: Utilities. If you have questions, email us at info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How do I receive the installer and the activation key?

After your payment is completed, we email you the licence key and a setup/activation guide that includes the official download link. Please note: the VRSoft “Download links” page contains Microsoft products only; utilities download links are always provided in the email guide. If you did not receive the email, please let us know: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Do utilities work on Windows 10/11 systems?

Yes, most products support Windows 10 and 11. Some tools are available for 64-bit systems only, and may require administrator privileges to install or run. We list the exact requirements on each product page. If you are unsure, send us your device details: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Do utilities require activation? How do I upgrade from trial to full?

Paid utilities require activation. Download and install the vendor’s installer from the link provided in the email, then enter the licence key within the software (or sign in with your vendor account if required). For trial versions, full functionality is usually unlocked immediately after entering the key. If you run into any issues, take a screenshot and contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How many devices can I install the purchased utility on?

This depends on the licence type. There are single-device licences as well as multi-device or multi-user plans. The device limit is shown on the product page; for business use, you can request a quote. If you replace your device, the licence can often be transferred, but you may need to deactivate it on the previous machine first. Questions: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Do I receive updates and new major versions with my licence?

Bug fixes and minor updates are typically included. Major version upgrades depend on the vendor — they may be free, discounted, or require a separate licence. You can find the details on the product page and in the email guide. Not sure? Message us and we will check the exact product for you: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Can a utility conflict with antivirus software or a firewall?

In rare cases, security software may incorrectly block an installer or a feature. If this happens, run the software as administrator, temporarily disable real-time protection, or add the program to the exclusions list. If the issue persists, send us a screenshot and a short description: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Utilities range: Utilities.

Do I receive a VAT invoice and can I use it in a business environment?

Yes, we issue a VAT invoice for every purchase. Most utilities can be used in business environments, but licence terms (device limits, transferability) may vary by vendor. If you need licences for multiple machines or require specific support, contact us — we will help you choose the right licence: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

DESIGN / ANALYSIS / RESEARCH SOFTWARE (ALFASOFT)

What does the Design / Analysis / Research Software (Alfasoft) category include?

This category includes professional design, analysis, statistical and scientific publishing software. It covers solutions that support engineering design, data processing, research and academic publishing. These tools are typically used in academic, research and business environments. You can view our curated selection here: Design / Analysis / Research Software (Alfasoft).

Who are these tools recommended for?

This category is primarily intended for researchers, engineers, university lecturers and students, as well as corporate R&D and analytics teams. The best choice depends on your use case (education, research, industrial application) and the licence type.

Why are there no public prices for these products?

These products are usually available under individual licensing terms. Pricing depends, among other things, on the type of use (education, research, commercial), the number of users, the term, and institutional or company eligibility. That’s why we prepare a tailored quotation in every case. To request a quote, email us at: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What licence types are available for these products?

For design, analysis and publishing software, the following licence types are typically available:

  • Edu / Academic licences (for students and educators),
  • Commercial licences (for general, non-educational use),
  • Time-based (subscription) or perpetual (retail) licences.

Exact eligibility and usage rights are defined by the manufacturer, so it’s best to confirm details before requesting an offer.

Can these products be used for education?

Yes. Many products offer an education (Edu) or academic licence that may be available on more favourable terms. Please note that these licences are not permitted for business or revenue-generating activities. Availability can also depend on the institution and eligibility status.

What happens after I request a quote?

After your quote is approved, we will email you:

  • the licence details,
  • the activation instructions,
  • and the official manufacturer download link.

These products are delivered digitally in all cases.

Can these products be used on multiple devices or by multiple users?

This depends on the licence type. Options may include:

  • single-user licences,
  • named-user licences,
  • floating (network) licences.

For multi-user or institutional use, individual consultation is required.

How long is the licence valid?

The licence can be:

  • time-based (e.g. 1 year / 12 months),
  • or perpetual, valid indefinitely for the given version.

Time-based licences can be renewed before expiry.

What should I do if I’m not sure which product or licence I need?

That’s completely normal with these specialised solutions. Send us your use case, whether it’s for education, research or business, plus the number of users, and we’ll help you choose the right product and licence. Contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

DIGITAL LICENCE

What is a Digital Licence?

In 2025, most software is sold in digital form. When you purchase software (such as Windows, Office, antivirus software, or utilities), you are not buying the physical program itself, but rather the legal right to use it in the form of a licence. This licence allows you to legally install, activate, and use the software. Digital licences are a modern and environmentally friendly solution: there is no packaging or shipping, and everything is delivered instantly by email.

What does the licence entitle me to?

The licence grants the legal right to use the software. The duration and conditions of use depend on the licence type:

  • Time-based licence – for example, a 1-year subscription that requires renewal after the specified period.
  • Lifetime (perpetual) licence – a one-time purchase that allows unlimited use, but only for the specific version purchased.

The purchased licence key activates your right to use the software; however, the installer itself is not included in the key. Installers must always be downloaded from official vendor sources. For Microsoft products, installers are available on our Download links page; for other software, the download link is provided in the email guide.

How do I receive the software and the licence key?

After your order and payment are completed, we send the licence key and a setup/activation guide by email. We always provide official sources for downloading the software: for Microsoft products, this is our Download links page, while for other vendors the email contains the appropriate download link and instructions. This ensures that you are always using original and secure installers.

Why is a digital licence better than a boxed version?

A digital licence offers several advantages: it is faster, more convenient, and environmentally friendly. There is no shipping time, no physical media or packaging, and delivery is instant via email, allowing you to install the software within minutes. It is also fully legal and verifiable: each licence is unique and provided with an invoice and an official vendor key. The result is a secure, paperless solution that meets modern IT requirements.

What is the difference between OEM, Retail, and Volume licences?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) licences are tied to a specific device and cannot be transferred to another computer.
Retail licences can be transferred to another device, provided they are deactivated on the previous one.
Volume licences are intended for business environments and allow installation on multiple devices under the vendor’s contractual terms.
All licence types are legal and sourced from official distribution channels. The exact licence type is clearly indicated on each product page.

How can I verify that the licence is original and legal?

All licences we sell come from verified sources and comply with EU regulations. Once activated, the licence is validated on the vendor’s servers; if activation is successful, the licence is legally valid. For Microsoft products, verification takes place directly on Microsoft’s servers, while other vendors confirm validity within their software. If you have any doubts, our support team can help you verify the key or order details.

UPGRADES, VERSION UPDATES

What is the difference between an “update” and an “upgrade”?

An update typically means smaller fixes, security patches, and incremental improvements within the same major version—usually delivered automatically and free of charge. An upgrade is a larger step to a new major version (e.g. X → Y), which may require a new licence or an active subscription. Whether you qualify for a free or discounted upgrade depends on your licence terms and the vendor’s current policy.

Am I eligible for a discounted or free upgrade with my existing licence?

This depends on the product and the vendor. With perpetual (lifetime) licences, eligibility is usually limited to the purchased major version—moving to a new major version may require a new licence. With subscription models, major version upgrades are often included. In some cases, vendors offer promotions or “grace period” programmes where the purchase date may qualify you for a reduced price. If you are unsure, share your order ID and we will check your options.

Will my data and settings be preserved during a version upgrade?

That depends on whether you choose an in-place upgrade or a clean install, and on what the vendor supports. An in-place upgrade usually keeps applications and settings, but you should always create a full backup of important files. With a clean install, the system is reinstalled from scratch and applications must be reconfigured—however, it can also deliver a more stable and “fresh” starting point.

Clean install vs. in-place upgrade: which should I choose and when?

An in-place upgrade is recommended when you want to move quickly to a new major version and your current environment is stable. A clean install is a better choice if you have experienced recurring errors, performance issues, corrupted settings, or you are making a significant version jump. In both cases, check compatibility, back up your data, and ensure you have a valid licence for the target version.

What happens if my device or software environment is not compatible with the new version?

In this case, you may need to consider a hardware refresh, replacing certain components (e.g. memory or storage), or staying on your current version until the vendor’s support period ends. In business environments, it is best practice to run a pilot, validate compatibility for critical applications, and only then roll out the upgrade more broadly. Forcing an upgrade in an incompatible environment often leads to instability.

Can I roll back to the previous version if I have issues with the new one?

Many systems offer a temporary rollback option for a limited time after an upgrade, but this depends on the vendor and your configuration. The most reliable approach is to create a full backup (disk image) before upgrading, so you can restore the previous state at any time. For business-critical systems, upgrades should always be scheduled, tested, and executed with a defined rollback plan.

Will my old key work for the new major version, or do I need a new licence?

In most cases, an existing key is valid for the specific major version it was purchased for. A new major version often requires a new licence—unless your subscription or the vendor’s offer explicitly includes upgrade rights. Before purchasing, check the product page for the licence type (perpetual vs. subscription) and whether major version upgrades are included. If in doubt, share your order ID and we will confirm.

How should version upgrades be scheduled in a business environment?

Create a structured upgrade plan: device and software inventory, compatibility testing, a pilot group, user communication, and a clear backup and rollback strategy. Set a maintenance window to minimise downtime. Confirm licence validity and the vendor support matrix (drivers, integrations, dependencies). After deployment, monitor incidents and support tickets, and only then expand the rollout organisation-wide.

LEGALITY

Is a digital licence legally valid?

Yes. A digital licence is a legitimate solution: it can be activated in the vendor’s system and grants lawful use under the applicable licence terms. All keys we sell come from verified sources, are provided with an invoice, and include vendor-specific guidance. In practice, legality is confirmed when activation succeeds on the vendor’s servers and the product shows as valid in your account or within the application. Details: Terms & Conditions.

Is there a legal difference between OEM and Retail licences?

Yes. An OEM licence is typically tied to a specific device and, under vendor terms, is not transferable to another machine. A Retail licence is usually more flexible and can often be moved to another device under certain conditions (for example, after deactivation on the previous device). Both types are legal when sourced through official channels and used in line with the applicable licence terms. We always indicate the licence type on the product page so the permitted usage is clear before purchase.

Can I transfer or resell the licence?

Whether a licence can be transferred depends on the licence type and the vendor’s terms. Some licences are explicitly bound to a person or a device (OEM), while others may be transferable under certain conditions (Retail). Volume agreements used in business environments follow separate contractual rules. Before transferring any licence, always verify the legal terms for the specific product; if you are unsure, send us your order ID and we will help interpret the vendor’s requirements. Reference information: Terms & Conditions.

Do I receive an official VAT invoice for my purchase?

Yes. We issue a VAT invoice for every purchase based on the details you provide. The invoice is delivered by email, and if you have a VRSoft account you can download it again later. For business purchases, the invoice is suitable for accounting purposes; together with successful activation, it provides practical evidence of lawful use. If needed, we can resend order-related documentation (e.g. guides, licence details). Data protection: Privacy Policy.

How can lawful use be demonstrated in an audit?

In practice, rely on three pillars: the invoice (proof of purchase), licence information (key, account/activation details), and vendor validation (successful activation and a valid status shown in your account or within the application). Keep the order confirmation and any email guides. In a business environment, maintain a device and software inventory so you can quickly demonstrate which licence belongs to which device or account during an audit.

Right of withdrawal for digital products: what should I expect?

For digital content—especially after a licence key has been delivered—the right of withdrawal may be limited, because the key becomes usable upon delivery. We explicitly highlight this during checkout and detail the conditions in our Terms & Conditions. In certain cases, an exception may be possible if the key can be proven not to have been activated and can be returned in unchanged condition. If you have questions, contact us with your order ID and we will help find the best solution.

Can I use the licence as a business, including for client work?

Most licences allow intended use in a business environment, but the permitted scope may be limited (e.g. number of devices, number of users, virtualization rights). If you provide services to clients, check whether the licence is for internal use only or whether service provider-type usage is allowed. If you are unsure, share your requirements and we will help you choose a licence that meets business compliance needs.

GLOSSARY

What is a licence key / product key?

A licence key (product key) is an alphanumeric code used to activate the software and confirm lawful use. We deliver the key by email, and you download the installer from an official source: Download links. Important: the Download links page contains installers for Microsoft products only; for antivirus and utilities, the official download link is provided in the email guide. If you did not receive it, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Purchase terms: Terms & Conditions.

What is a digital licence (ESD)?

ESD (Electronic Software Delivery) means fully digital delivery: you receive the licence key by email and download the software from an official link: Download links. Note: this page contains Microsoft installers only; download links for antivirus and utilities are provided in the email guide. If you did not receive it, write to: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Full terms: Terms & Conditions.

What does an OEM licence mean?

An OEM licence is originally intended to be associated with a new device and is often tied to a specific PC/hardware. The usage terms can be stricter (for example, limited transferability). The exact rules are defined by the product description and the vendor’s EULA. Not sure? Contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Purchase terms: Terms & Conditions.

What does a Retail / FPP licence mean?

Retail (FPP) is an end-user licence that is typically transferable from one device to another (subject to the applicable terms). It is more flexible than OEM, although exact rights may vary by product. If you are planning a transfer, check with us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installer: Download links. Note: this page contains Microsoft installers only; for other vendors (e.g. antivirus, utilities), download links are provided in the email guide.

What is a Volume (VL) licence, and what are MAK / KMS?

A Volume licence is a business/enterprise licensing model. Activation can be done using a MAK key (a limited number of online activations) or via KMS (an organisation’s activation server). For typical end users, Retail/OEM licences are more common. If you see a VL key, contact us before use: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft only). Other vendors’ download links are provided in the email guide.

What is a time-based licence and a lifetime licence?

A time-based licence is valid for a defined period (e.g. 1 year) and can be renewed at expiry. A lifetime licence is valid indefinitely, but typically applies to a specific major version (it does not necessarily include major-version upgrades forever). If you are unsure about your rights, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Terms: Terms & Conditions.

What is the difference between user-based and device-based licences?

A user-based licence is linked to an account identity (e.g. a Microsoft account) and may be used across multiple devices depending on the terms. A device-based licence is valid for one specific machine; transferring it is only possible under certain conditions. If you are switching devices, ask us for guidance: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installer: Download links (Microsoft only); for other products the download link is included in the email guide.

What does the edition mean (Home / Pro / Enterprise, etc.)?

The edition defines the feature set and usage rights. Home is designed for personal use, Pro adds business features, and Enterprise includes capabilities for larger organisations. A key will only activate the matching edition. Not sure which one you need? Contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (for Microsoft products).

What is an N / KN edition in Windows?

N/KN editions ship without certain media features due to EU/KR regulations. If you install such an edition, you may need to add a media component afterwards. We can help you choose the right installer: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Official source: Download links (Microsoft).

What is LTSC / LTSB in Windows?

LTSC/LTSB is a long-term servicing channel with fewer feature changes and a stronger focus on stability. It is intended for specific business use cases and is not recommended for every environment. If you are unsure whether you need it, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installer: Download links (Microsoft).

What is the difference between Microsoft 365 and “perpetual” Office?

Microsoft 365 is subscription-based and includes ongoing updates and cloud services. Perpetual Office is a one-time purchase that grants usage rights for a specific major version; major-version upgrades may require a separate purchase. If you want help choosing, write to: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Terms: Terms & Conditions.

What is a download link and why does the source matter?

A download link is the official path to the installer. Always download from a trusted source to avoid malware and compatibility issues. VRSoft collects vendor-origin links here: Download links (Microsoft only). For antivirus and utilities, the download link is included in the email guide—if you did not receive it, contact info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What is an ISO image (installer disk image)?

An ISO is a disk image file that contains the full installer. You can create a bootable USB drive from it or mount it virtually. Download ISO files from an official source: Download links (Microsoft). For other vendors, the download details are provided in the email guide; if it did not arrive, contact us.

What is the difference between a clean install and an in-place upgrade?

A clean install reinstalls the system from scratch (often with formatting) and is the best option when troubleshooting persistent issues. An in-place upgrade keeps your data and settings, but may carry over older problems. Before deciding, back up your data and feel free to ask us for guidance. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). For other software, the download link is provided by email.

What does activation mean and how does it work?

During activation, the software validates your key with the vendor’s servers and records your usage rights. It is important to install the correct edition and enter the key exactly (without extra spaces). For downloads: Download links (Microsoft). For other vendors, installation links are included in the email guide; if it did not arrive, let us know.

What is digital entitlement in Windows?

Digital entitlement means the activated state is retained and linked to your hardware or your account, so it can be recognised after reinstalling. It does not replace having the proper licence, but it can make reactivation easier. If you have questions, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What is the difference between a Product ID and a licence key?

The Product ID identifies an installed instance and is not the same as your licence key. The key is used for activation, while the Product ID is informational. If you are reporting an issue, do not confuse the two. If unsure, take a screenshot and contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What is reactivation and when is it needed?

After a reinstall, a major hardware change, or a version change, the software may request reactivation. In that case, you typically use the same key or account again to confirm your rights. If you run into issues, email your order ID to info@vrsoft.co.uk. Official source: Download links (Microsoft). For other vendors, the installer link is provided by email.

What does an update mean?

An update includes smaller fixes, security patches, and improvements within the same major version—typically free of charge. Keeping your system updated improves stability and security. If you are unsure what to install, contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). For other products, download links are provided by email.

What does an upgrade (major version change) mean?

An upgrade means moving to a newer major version (e.g. V1 → V2), typically with new features and changes. This often requires separate eligibility and/or an additional purchase. Options vary by product—contact us for details: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). Other vendors’ installers are provided in the email guide.

What is a cumulative update and what does EOL (End of Life) mean?

A cumulative update bundles multiple fixes into one package, making it easier to stay current. EOL is when a vendor ends support for a version—your licence may still be valid, but no further security fixes are provided. In most cases, moving to a supported version is recommended. Questions: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Terms: Terms & Conditions.

What is an antivirus / internet security package and why is it important?

Antivirus and internet security solutions protect you against malware, phishing, and other online threats. Keeping them updated is essential. You can browse our selection here: Antivirus / Internet security. Note: antivirus download links and the full guide are sent by email; if you did not receive them, contact info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What do “genuine” checks and 2FA mean?

A “genuine” check verifies licence legitimacy. If you see an issue, contact us. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra security layer to your accounts and is strongly recommended. If you need help or receive an error message, email: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What is the role of a Microsoft account in licensing?

Many licences can be linked to a user account (e.g. a Microsoft account), which can make reinstalls and device management easier. Always use your own account and keep your login details safe. If you see an error while linking an account, contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Purchase terms: Terms & Conditions.

What does device limit and transferability mean?

The device limit defines how many devices a licence can be used on in parallel. Transferability means some licence types (e.g. Retail) can be moved between devices, while others (e.g. OEM) typically cannot. Not sure? Email: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). Other vendors’ installer links are provided by email.

What is the EULA and where can I find the terms (T&Cs, GDPR)?

The EULA is the End User Licence Agreement—the vendor’s usage terms for the software. Your purchase is governed by VRSoft’s Terms & Conditions, and we process data in line with GDPR. Details: Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy. Questions: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

What does the “Invalid key” error mean and how do I fix it?

A common cause is an edition mismatch (e.g. a Pro key on Home), a mistyped key, or using the wrong installer. Check the edition, paste the key exactly, restart, and try again. If it still fails, take a screenshot and contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). For other products, download links are provided by email.

What is an activation limit and how can it affect me?

Some keys (e.g. MAK) allow a defined number of activations. If that limit is reached, you may see an error. In such cases, we can review your order details and help identify the best solution. Email us with a screenshot of the error: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Terms: Terms & Conditions.

What does a region / language mismatch mean and what should I do?

Some products are region- or language-specific. If you install media that does not match, you may encounter an activation error. In that case, you need to use the correct installer. Tell us which edition and language you installed, and we will help you choose the right package: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). For other vendors, the link is provided by email.

What should I do if a firewall/VPN prevents activation?

A corporate firewall, proxy, or VPN can block activation requests. Try activating temporarily without VPN/firewall restrictions, and run the application with administrator rights, then try again. If the error persists, take a screenshot and contact us: info@vrsoft.co.uk. Installers: Download links (Microsoft). For other products, the installer link is included in the email guide.

CUSTOMERS ASKED – COMMON QUESTIONS & STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTIONS

I haven’t received the email (licence key, guide, or invoice). What should I do?

Check your Spam/Junk and Promotions folders, then search for “VRSoft”. Make sure you are checking the email address used for the order and that your mailbox is not full. If you have an account, you can also find order details there. If you still don’t receive anything within 15–30 minutes, email us with your order ID: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Where can I access the official installers?

For Microsoft products, official installers are available on our collection page: Download links. For antivirus and utilities, the download link is always included in the email installation guide. If the guide didn’t arrive, contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

I encountered a download or installation error. How can I troubleshoot it?

Download the installer using a stable connection and run it with administrator privileges. Temporarily disable overlapping security tools (if more than one is active), then re-enable them after installation. Always use a clean installer package (avoid old or unknown-source files). If you receive an error message, take a screenshot and email it with a short description: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

The software shows an error when entering the key. What should I check first?

Check that you installed the correct edition (the key is valid only for the matching edition) and paste the key exactly (without extra spaces). Restart the app/device and verify that a firewall or corporate proxy is not blocking validation. If the issue persists, send a screenshot and tell us which edition you installed: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

I didn’t receive the installation/activation guide, or I lost it. Can you resend it?

Yes. Email us your order ID and we will resend the guide (and the download link if needed). The original email may have landed in Spam/Promotions, so please check those folders as well. Contact: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

How can I get help quickly, and what details should I send?

Please include your order ID, the product name/edition, your operating system version (e.g. Windows 11), and a screenshot of the error. Also describe briefly what you have already tried (restart, different installer, disabling firewall). The more precise the details, the faster we can help: info@vrsoft.co.uk.

Rare cases and error codes – where can you find a solution?

We continuously collect and update uncommon cases. First, search our FAQ page by keyword; if you can’t find a solution, email us the details and we will guide you step by step: FAQ · info@vrsoft.co.uk.
